Just arrived...An XT600E come for my trip....

                               


For a test i put on the XT the aluminium panniers from my Varadero to get a pic how is gonna be....

Sure looks pretty but how it goes on the road??

Update 17-04-2014.

Some new additions...

New front fender extension the old one was short,this is the Yamaha original extention.

Make the front fender more stable with an aluminium piece from an older model!

 Next i have to do something with the lights of the XT there wasn't so strong..

I bought from the e-bay 2x10w 900 lumens led spot lights .

The only place that i can hold them was in the indicators....

My "bestman" doing the dirty job!!!

The difference was huge!The lights is MUCH better now!

Arrived from the UK my soft bags for the XT military bags painted black....

Next i put a pair of bags on the tank with small locks...

Finaly i found an acerbis fuel tank for my XT600E now i have a capacity of 23 liters instead of the original yamaha 15 liter tank.

My 5$ heated grips came from china (sorry i am not a rich guy) fitted on the bike and connected...Wait for the results in the next kms....

New update 20-12-2016 the right one stop working...

I have to order again a new set...

The cost was 4.5 euros (hahaha) i love those china cheap stuff...

One other mod that i made is to change the horn...The original was not so loud....

This is the original yamaha horn...

And this is the new,much louder than the original...Yeah!!!

I put a fuel filter on the right side of the tank...In the left side there isnt any space so i will have the right petcock in "on" position and the left in "off"  to get some cleaner fuel in the carburators...

Next was a temprature meter of the engine oil,simple and very clever solution to have an eye of the engines temp...

So,next job is to get the exhaust temprature away from the air cooled cylinder of the XT...

The first one is almost ready...

Finished the second pipe...

 The exhaust pipe insulation tape was only for this i have to order some more to finish until the middle of the exhaust...I am waiting for the weather to get better to test it on the road...

Is time to change the small original yamaha footpegs..

The new footpegs was bought from ebay and is for a Yamaha TW200 they fits perfect in XTs and they are cheap...

The diference in the size of the footpegs is huge....

Now riding is more comfortable specialy in a stand position.

Change the front Yamaha forks with WP (White Power)....

It was necessary because with the bigger fuel tank the front weight was making the front suspention unstable...

In the first km the different was huge more stable in the brakes and not "lift up" when i open the throttle...

It was a right choice!

Oil cooler for my XT600E.

After long search finally i found a oil cooler.

Hope to get my oil temp lower .

The only matter that i have is that the position of the oil cooler change,the original position was on the engine with the stock fuel tank.But i have the Acerbis tank and doesnt fit in that position so i change and screw it in the bashplate.and make a small bash plate for the oilcoolers pipes...

Seems that work fine so far!

My old original exhaust was replace with a second hand Arrow-Dakar..

I found a second hand Garmin Montana 600

together with a Touratech base mount...

So i replace my old but trusty Mio P550 pocket pc that i have 9 years

(and still works).

My XT now is blue...New body kit some parts new some used...The only thing that i miss so far is the tail,still white,but i am searching for a new/used one!

New front rack in my XT,very hand full for some equipment that i was carry in the back,now infront i have better stability!

12v socket in the top case.

Easy job.

I open 28mm holes with a drill one in the left side and one in the right side.

Now i can charge some stuff when i ride outside the top case.

There will be one in the inside also!
